Hourly wages to increase for student workers

On Thursday, Jan. 25, an increase in wages for hourly student workers was announced by Vice President for Finance and Administration Samir Datta via email. He said the change was the result of years of advocacy by students and the collective efforts of Lawrence University Community Council (LUCC), Finance, Student Life and Human Resources.

Frodl and Popoca take first at Red Hawk Invitational

On Saturday, Feb. 3, two of Lawrence’s distance runners raced to first place in the women’s 5K and men’s 5K at the Red Hawk Invitational hosted by Ripon College. Junior Edythmae Frodl finished with a time of 18:43.80, while fellow junior Thomas Popoca ran a 15:57.78.

After the retirement of beloved Professor Donna DiBella at the end of the last academic year, the future of the Conservatory’s sight-singing course sequence was uncertain. It was far into the year before there was confirmation of a new, incoming professor who would take over the course—one some students recognized with excitement, as Professor Bianca Pratte had graduated from Lawrence in 2020 with degrees in flute performance and psychology.

There is a measurable trend cycle in fashion, with fads repeating themselves every few years. There are many experiences in this short life that the generations in America share; fear is one of those things.
