Lawrence undergoing reevaluation of dining services
Blair Vandehey
As of Winter Term 2024, Lawrence has been renegotiating the contract with current dining services provider Bon Appetit. According to Vice President for Student Life Chris Clarke, it has been 15 years since the last time the university has done this, and although he praised Bon Appetit for its continuous improvement, he said it is time to reexamine based on student needs and financial profile.

My emotional support scrunchie
Niranjana Mittal
Ever since I had hair thick enough to tie up, I have carried a scrunchie with me in my pocket. It is the only thing that could hold my hair together back home in the Bangkok heat and humidity, so it’s very important to me!

Occasionally, you might arrive on the third floor of Warch Campus Center on a Tuesday evening after a long, arduous day of class; following your arrival, you might notice a gray mass of fur flitting to each hand as you start to comprehend that that “mass of fur” is just a cat eagerly greeting people. You quickly tell yourself that you are just imagining said “cat” and that you’re just “seeing things.” It isn’t until you come back later in the evening to see the cat sitting on people’s laps that you realize you really weren’t hallucinating from academic exhaustion and mild abandonment of lunch. The question is, are you willing to greet that gray cat?

Lawrence Res Ed continually worsens student experience
Eli Wunderlich
On a sunny April afternoon two years ago, I sat on the steps outside Chapman Hall after making my deposit at the Registrar’s Office. Lawrence was my top choice, tied with the Ohio State University (OSU) in my hometown of Columbus, Ohio, but after meeting the cross country team, I decided this was the place I belonged. Several months earlier, though, the reason Lawrence University even came into consideration as a final choice was the housing.
