Students address lack of recognition for Jewish holidays

A group of Jewish Lawrentians has come forward to address antisemitism and what they believe have been Lawrence’s failures to recognize their community.

Viking football falls to Grinnell

Last weekend saw the Lawrence football team driving all the way down to Grinnell, Iowa to face off against the Grinnell College Pioneers in a Midwest Conference match at Rosenbloom Field. The Vikings came into the contest with a three-game losing streak but had shown marked improvement throughout the beginning of the season. While they scored seven points in their competition against Cornell College, they scored thirteen a week later at Monmouth, and twenty-two against the University of Minnesota-Morris on Sept. 23.

It only took one parasitology course in Associate Professor of Biology Judith Humphries’ undergraduate years to hook her. Since then, her interest in all things parasite-related has grown into numerous research projects.

Wriston Art Galleries fall opening: Pottery, photographs and textiles

The Fall Term exhibits of the Wriston Art Galleries are here! With a bold presence, the gallery’s three exhibits cover a considerable diversity of subject matter. On display is pottery of a modernist Pueblo tradition, gentle reminiscences of gay hookup culture and a striking testamonial warning to the climate crisis.
